Demolition of 1886 Sellwood Home for New Construction

PORTLAND, Ore. – A 129-year-old house in the Sellwood neighborhood will be demolished with a new house constructed in its place.

Located at 8226 SE 19th Ave., the house was built in 1886 on a woodpost foundation. It is 1,180 square feet and sits on a 7,500-square-foot lot.

On Jan. 8 the city recorded a “Sheriff’s deed” sale of the property for $287,100. This generally indicates a foreclosure sale has taken place. The house had previously sold in 2006 for $260,000.

The buyer was SE 19th Lofts LLC, a business which lists Roman Ozeruga as a member and UHD Holdings LLC, also registered to Ozeruga, as its registered agent. UHD likely stands for Urban Housing Development, a business which also lists Ozeruga as its registered agent and sole member.

On Jan. 22 the city received an application for construction of a new two-story house on the property. The applicant was Kevin Partain of Urban Visions. On Feb. 3 the city received an application and issued a permit for demolition of the 129-year-old home.

The permit states that the scope of work does not include removal of any trees on the property.
