On Sept. 23 the city received an application for new construction of a five-story apartment building with an “eco roof” and no onsite parking.

In November an application for demolition was received. The house was subject to the 35-day demolition delay period due to the developer’s plan to replace it with more than one new residence. The delay expired Dec. 29, but the demolition permit was not issued until April 17.

The house has now been demolished and the construction permit has been issued.

Permits and county records list the owners of the property as Gregg and Hana Opsahl since a 2008 sale for $675,000. The applicant and contractor on the demolition and redevelopment is Erik Opsahl of Rainier Pacific Development LLC.
