PORTLAND, Ore. – The demolition of an 85-year-old home in the Eastmoreland neighborhood took place during the past two days, with two new houses slated to be constructed on the site.

The property was reported on by the Portland Chronicle yesterday. Over the weekend demolition equipment had arrived but the house was still intact.

Developer Renaissance Custom Homes has reopened an underlying lot line, splitting the 6,525-square-foot lot into two despite the property’s R5 zoning, which allows for one residence per 5,000 square feet of land in new land divisions.
