Demolition Permits Issued September 28 – October 4

The Portland Chronicle compiles weekly lists of residential and commercial demolition permits issued in the city of Portland.

Single family residence demolition permits issued Sept. 28 through Oct. 4:

1640 SE TACOMA ST, 97202 – Owner: YOSHIDA REAL ESTATE HOLDINGS XVI LLC – Applicant: BRIAN LESSLER, PDG CONSTRUCTION SERVICES INC – Contractor: PDG CONSTRUCTION SERVICES INC – Application received 10/2, permit issued 10/2 – Notes: property is in a commercial zone, waiving the 35-day delay

1926 NE MASON ST, 97212 – Owner: ERIN M LIVENGOOD and BENJAMIN J KAISER – Applicant: ERIC WILEY, KAISER GROUP INC – Contractor: KAISER GROUP LLC – Notes: this permit is under on the “issued” list giving an Oct. 2 date of issuance, but its status is listed as “under review.” The intake states the permit is subject to the 35-day delay, and the application intake date is also Oct. 2. With the conflicting information, it is unclear whether the permit has been issued or not. If it has, it would appear to violate the required demolition delay.

Commercial demolition permits issued Sept. 28 through Oct. 4:

1626 NE 9TH AVE, 97232 – Owner: FROGMAN PARTNERS LLC – Applicant: OUR UNITED VILLAGES – Contractor: OUR UNITED VILLAGES – Application received 9/29, permit issued 9/29 – Notes: this is a rare example of the demolition permit stating the building will be deconstructed. Usually that information does not appear on the permit – Both the residence (in commercial use) and a small garage at the rear of the property will be deconstructed. – This is classified as a commercial demolition but is very similar to the above demolition on Southeast Tacoma Street: listed by the city with dual residential and commercial use; the only difference is in the permit type, therefore we are including it in our list of single-family residential demolitions.
