Eight “Custom Homes” Coming to Creston-Kenilworth Land

PORTLAND, Ore. – A large area of vacant land in the Creston-Kenilworth neighborhood is the site of proposed lot subdivision and construction of eight new single-family homes.

The land is located at Southeast 36th and Francis Street. It is adjacent to Prestige Care of Reedwood, an assisted-living facility.

The property is made up of four 5,500 square foot lots. They are owned by by Vic RemmersEverett Custom Homes. City data on the lots’ sales history is inconsistent, but it appears there was a sale in 2013.

In November the city sent out a notice of a Type II proposal, describing the proposed development. Remmers plans to divide the four lots into eight 2,525 square foot lots, and to build a single-family home on each.

As Southeast 36th Avenue is an alley, the development will require a nine-foot setback to construct a sidewalk and other improvements.The land use review is listed as “pending.” Construction permits have not yet been filed.

According to the Creston-Kenilworth Neighborhood Association, all eight new houses will face Southeast 36th Avenue.
