Infill on Hawthorne, 1902 House to Be Preserved

PORTLAND, Ore. – Additional residential units have been proposed on property home to a 113-year-old house on the edge of the Sunnyside neighborhood in Southeast Portland, with the house likely to remain standing.

The property, located at 2805 SE Hawthorne Blvd., is 7,970 square feet in size. The 1902 house, in use as a triplex, totals 3,033 square feet.

On March 23 the city received an early assistance application for development on the property. The application proposes to divide the lot into two new parcels, with the 1902 triplex remaining on one roughly 3,415-square-foot lot and the remainder of the property receiving two new structures, each containing two units for a total of four new residences.

The property is owned by Nina Crawford of Vancouver, Wash., and has been owned by Crawford since 1998.
