The demolished house, which the Portland Chronicle reported on earlier this month, was built in 1919. It was located on an R5-zoned 5,000-square-foot lot, meaning one replacement house was the maximum the developer could build.

On April 2 the city received an application for demolition of the 96-year-old home. It was not subject to the 35-day demolition delay due to the developer’s plan to replace the house with a single new residence. This exemption ends in three days’ time.

Morrison Development Group LLC is registered to Joel Frederick Morrison. Roughly 20 blocks east of this development Morrison is redeveloping a large portion of a dead-end street on Southeast Brooklyn Street.

A tree in the front yard had been marked prior to demolition and was razed along with the house.

The sidewalk is blocked with no posted permits. A John Deere excavator with a Flying H Construction bumper sticker and a freight truck from Fanno Creek, Inc. are completely barring pedestrian use of the sidewalk.

The contractor on the demolition is Morrison Built registered at 4614 SW Kelly Ave. suite 17. Morrison Built is also registered to Joel Morrison. For more information call the Oregon Construction Contractors Board (CCB) at 503-378-4621.
