The house, profiled by the Portland Chronicle in February, received a demolition permit on March 12 after waiting out a 35-day demolition delay, suggesting it will be replaced by something other than a single-family home. However, as yet there are no construction permits filed.

The most recent permit other than the demolition is an alteration permit citing a large-scale remodel of the one-story house which describes mostly interior work. However, several days after applying for that permit the developer applied for demolition of the house.

The Northwest 23rd Place property most recently sold for $185,000 in 2012, to current owner Tony Demes. Before that it had sold for $38,900 in 1990.
